The District provides collection of bulky wastes to all citizens. Hard to dispose of items such as appliances and furniture will be picked up and recycled or disposed of properly. Bulky items are things such as furniture, appliances, and televisions. These items are generally too big for your regular trash collector to handle. The District has a program to collect these items for a small fee.
Got an old couch you need to get rid of? Need to make room for a new refrigerator? We can help. The District provides a bulky waste pickup for furniture and appliances. Residents should contact the District office to arrange for pickup and we will schedule you for collection. In most cases, we can pick your item or items up within one week of payment. We can accept most any piece of furniture or appliance. We do ask that you remove glass if possible. Items need to be out by the road and not under electrical wires. We are unable to remove items from your home, porch, barn, etc. Pickup days will be limited to Thursdays only beginning in January 2006.
The Cities of Fayetteville and Springdale offer a bulky item pick up program for their residents. Some restrictions apply. Please call the city offices for more information.
Computers
We can't pick up computers, but we have four drop-off sites for these items. Click here for more info.
Metal items are recycled. We remove the refrigerant from refrigerators and air conditioners and recycle it. Furniture is landfilled.
Residents of the two counties should contact the District office at (888) 426-9278 or (479) 846-3005 to make arrangements for collection of an item. The cost is $20.00 per item that contains refrigerant while items without refrigerant are $10.00 per item, plus a $30.00 trip charge. Items must be paid for in advance. Or.....you can bring items to us in Prairie Grove for half the above prices. State law now requires us to charge tax on items destined for the landfill.
