Education is one of the major tasks of the District. We provide support funding for two local educators, one in each county, who are available to work with any local school or community group. We also have a Public Education Coordinator in our main office who is available to work with any group in the two counties. The District maintains an extensive library of solid waste, recycling, composting and disposal materials that are available for review or may be checked out. Education is vital to the success of solid waste management and recycling. The District is committed to working with local schools to teach our children about proper waste management. In addition, we must not forget that the general public also needs a good understanding of waste management issues that affect our lives in so many ways. Public EducationThe District provides ongoing training opportunities available to the public. Information on Waste Haulers serving your area. Speakers available to do programs on a variety of solid waste related topics. Read about the programs available. The District has a series of brochures about solid waste topics and programs.
